The removal of bursary funding for nursing students in 2017 had a dramatic effect on applications across the UK. So King’s needed to build a university marketing campaign that showcased the diversity and inclusivity of the courses and how a King’s nursing degree sets graduates apart.

We set out to tell a story to showcase the everyday persona of its student nurses, creating an aura of accessibility in a highly respected environment. We developed a campaign message that hit the spot with a broad audience, giving the feeling that the King’s College offering is all-inclusive and that obtaining a first-class nursing degree from King’s is achievable.

To reach a hard to reach audience we had to think intelligently – the result was a campaign that combined digital activation via social media and display networks, with strategically selected out-of-home advertising.

A FIRST FOR KING’S
This live digital broadcast event brought together a panel that combined Alumni King’s nurses, now excelling in the army, mental health and touring the world delivering lectures, alongside current students and academics to take live questions directly from Facebook and Instagram audiences.
This social media event had a huge impact, with potential new students playing a big part in the live broadcast. Audiences engaged with the panel, liking, sharing and commenting during broadcast and for days afterwards.
